Frequently Asked Questions

Why is EBP work important?
EBP work is important for a few reasons. First and foremost, your organization wants to make sure that its program is doing what it is intended to do and is having its intended outcomes. In order to do so, your organization needs to collect data to assess the effectiveness of its programs and/or practices. This information can tell your organization what types of programs and practices are (a) currently being used and (b) what evidence supports the continued use of these programs and practices. Second, information demonstrating EBP work can be useful to other organizations interested in replicating your efforts, and therefore, advances the field as a whole. Lastly, information gauging EBP work can be used to support the need for additional programs and/or funding by your organization.
